King Street Station: Center of a multimodal hub

King Street Station is an iconic landmark that is a focal point for one of Seattle’s three multi-modal transportation hubs in the Center City. There’s more than just interstate Amtrak services. The station provides access and transfers for commuter rail, light rail, streetcar, regional buses, local buses, bicycles, pedestrians, vehicular traffic, and freight. Few places in Seattle bring together so many travel options.

In recognition of this SDOT is conducting a King Street Station Multi-modal Hub Study. It will evaluate existing and planned transportation uses, urban design features and community visions to develop 2016 and 2030 hub alternatives including conceptual design plans and preliminary projects to improve connections in the area.

The webpage for the King Street Station Multi-modal Hub Study went live this last week with up to date project information and a deep archive of maps and related studies. Check it out.
