Black History Month is Concluding, but RSJI Never Ends

The City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI) is a citywide effort to end institutionalized racism and race-based disparities in City government. In the month of February, SDOT is sharing stories of some of the projects and programs we are working on to achieve racial equity in our community.

Our new podcast for February focuses on Equity in contracting. Listen as Bobby Forch, SDOT Contracting Equity Manager, explains how the department supports Women and Minority Business Enterprises (WMBE), why it is important to do so and how to get more information on contracting with the city.

Bobby also talks about the WMBE Wednesday workshops. These are hosted by
the city’s contracting staff and   are held on the first Wednesday of every month. The workshops are of great benefit to general and prime contractors, estimators, woman and minority business subcontractors, and experts and interested consultants in WMBE utilization for construction.
