Mercer Corridor Project (East Phase)
Weekly Construction Wrap-Up

Valley Street is excavated for work on utilities.

This week, crews continued to work on Fairview Avenue N as construction activities were moved to the west side of the roadway.

Activities this week included:

  • Completed the traffic switch on Fairview Avenue N to the eastern side of the roadway so crews could begin utility installations and roadway restoration on the western side.
  • Began removal of transmission power line and poles on Valley Street and 9th Avenue N. Please note, temporary lane restrictions are associated with this work occurring from November 28th through mid-December and will occur at the following times:
  • Weekdays during non-peak traffic hours, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 9th Avenue N and Valley Street.
  • During the evenings of December 3rd-5th from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Valley Street between Westlake Avenue N and Fairview Avenue N.
  • During these lane restrictions, traffic will be routed around the work zone and uniformed police officers will be onsite at affected intersections to facilitate traffic flow.
  • Continued work on the median and cast in place wall for the I-5 on- and off-ramps at Mercer Street.
  • Continued installing underground communication lines on Fairview Avenue N between Valley Street and Mercer Street.
