Venture into Spring!

Spring is coming and with it – food trucks! Food truck business can make a positive difference for both the vendor and the neighborhood. Our Public Space Management (PSM) Program, in SDOT’s Street Use Division, guides applicants on how to get a Street Use vending permit. Our PSM team is now taking vending permit training on the road, so to speak, to encourage people who may not know the opportunity exists.

The PSM program has collaborated the last two years with Ventures, an organization that empowers individuals with limited resources and unlimited potential. The PSM team shared important information on food truck vending at a recent event, drawing people from as far away as Tacoma.

The opportunity supports a vibrant Seattle with connected people, places, and products, and offers a unique path toward livable wages, as we strive for an affordable city. Our PSM team also partners with the Office of Economic Development to offer training ‘road shows.’

Do you know anyone interested in starting a vending business? Are you interested in knowing more about this public space use? Find out more information here, or you can email DOT_Vending@seattle.gov.
