National Night Out is Tuesday, August 1!

Night Out is a national, annual event promoted in the city by Seattle Police Department Crime Prevention. It’s designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, increase neighborhood support in anti-crime efforts, and unite our communities. It’s also a great opportunity to get together with neighbors to catch up and have a good time.

To participate, check out the map of Night Out parties happening around the city or in your neighborhood!Night Out is the one day in which your neighborhood block party does not require an SDOT permit. For all other neighborhood block parties, please submit a simple, free permit application at least 14 days prior to the event. Find more info including the application and guidelines on SDOT’s Neighborhood Block Parties page.

If you’re hoping to make it a more regular event, you can obtain a simple, free, Play Street permit from SDOT.  This allows you to restrict access to all or part of your block for up to three times a week for up to six hours at a time.
