We’re celebrating the completion of the University/Cowen Paving Project!

University/Cowen Paving Project Ribbon-cutting | November 3, 2018

To maintain their usability, every year we pave arterial streets prioritizing them by pavement condition; traffic volume; geographic equity; and opportunities for grants or coordination with nearby projects, to support costs.

Our hardworking maintenance and paving team tackled multiple projects this construction season, celebrating the completion of the University/Cowen Paving Project this past weekend.

At the Saturday, November 3rd event, the ribbon-cutting team included SDOT Capital Projects and Roadway Structures Division Director Julius Rwamashongye; U-District Farmer’s Market Executive Director Jennifer Anton; University District Partnership Community Engagement Coordinator Chase Landry; and Patty Camacho of Councilmember Rob Johnson’s office.

A special thanks to the University District Farmer’s Market, who worked closely with us to maintain operations during construction.

We know construction is disruptive and we thank you all for your patience as we worked to make this roadway safer for all modes of travel!

Work was funded by the Levy to Move Seattle, approved by voters in 2015.
