Now is your opportunity to view the project concepts for the redesign of Fairview Avenue E and Fairview Avenue N. This project will address the safety improvements for the intersection that were identified in the Eastlake Neighborhood Plan. Thanks to funding from Cheshiahud Loop and the Bridging the Gap Neighborhood Street Fund, the project will become a reality.
The proposed concepts for reconfiguring the intersection focus on improving safety and shortening the pedestrian crossing distance, in addition to enhancing pedestrian and bicycle connections.
The specific project goals are to:
• Realign the intersection to improve safety and shorten the pedestrian crossing distance
• Preserve as much parking as is feasible
• Close the existing gap in pedestrian and bicycle facilities by providing a trail that connects to the existing gravel trail to the north and to the Fairview Avenue Bridge to the south
