Linden Avenue North Complete Street Project Looking Good…

The Linden Avenue North Complete Street Project is looking good with work between N 128th and N 130th and between N 143rd and N 145th streets now complete and nice touches like a new bench installed this week in front of Bitter Lake Community Center.

Crews recently finished most of the sidewalks, pedestrian railing, curbs and gutters and driveway paving (see the project web site for pictures).  Landscaping along Linden is scheduled to be complete by the end of next week.

The new cycle track is also looking good, though it remains closed between N 130th and N 141st streets while Seattle City light completes some utility work in the area.

The roadway also recently re-opened to two-way vehicle traffic, with temporary striping separating the new 11-feet lanes. Final pavement overlay is scheduled for March, when warmer weather is expected. It’s expected to take less than a week to do, during which time southbound traffic will again be detoured.

Remaining elements on the project include signal changes at N 130th and N 145th streets, more new sidewalk and the artwork installation that will harken back to the early days of the neighborhood when Playland amusement park was a major attraction.  Seattle City Light is also working in the project area to relocate utilities and erect street lights.
