Fortson Square Open House: September 18

SDOT, Chief Seattle Club, and Alliance for Pioneer Square are hosting an open house to get input on the forthcoming re-design of Fortson Square (at the intersection of Yesler Way and 2nd Ave Ext S). At the open house, SDOT staff will share the results of the Public Life Study we led in Pioneer Square in the public spaces surrounding the light rail station on Yesler Way.

The Context

SDOT launched the Public Life Program a couple of years ago to establish a way to study our public spaces and how they are used. The results of a public life study provide SDOT with people-centered data to make investment decisions, evaluate designs and interventions, and understand what makes a successful public space. The study in Pioneer Square was our latest effort, in coordination with Councilmember Sally Bagshaw’s office.
