King County Metro and SDOT are hosting an online open house to get public feedback on improvements for the Route 40 Transit-Plus Multimodal Corridor project.
The virtual meeting will be on Tuesday, June 30 from 5 – 6 PM.
At the online open house, we plan to share what we’ve heard so far to improve the Route 40 and outline our initial design concept ideas.
Prior to COVID-19, the Route 40 was one of Metro’s highest ridership routes, serving some of the busiest parts of Seattle including South Lake Union, Fremont, Ballard, Aurora, and Northgate neighborhoods. We’re in the early planning phase of the Route 40 Transit Plus Multimodal Corridor project, with construction anticipated for completion in 2024. Your participation in the online open house and feedback will help make corridor improvements and make Route 40 faster and more reliable.

We had over 1,000 responses and have compiled your feedback, along with feedback from Metro drivers, to evaluate how best to improve Route 40. At our online open house, we’ll share what we heard and how we’re incorporating those comments into the initial design concepts.
