The Seattle Pedestrian Advisory Board seeks two new members to serve two-year terms starting this spring through March 2023. Please consider applying (or encouraging someone you know) to apply by March 23, 2021!
Created by the Seattle City Council, the Seattle Pedestrian Advisory Board is a welcoming volunteer board that plays an influential role in acting as the stewards of Seattle’s Pedestrian Master Plan (PMP) vision.
The Pedestrian Advisory Board advises the Mayor, City Council, and City Departments and Divisions on projects, policies, and programs that improve and/or affect walking and rolling conditions in Seattle. The Pedestrian Advisory Board is one of several boards and commissions housed within the City of Seattle.
Among other meaningful work, members volunteer about 4-8 hours per month to do the following:
- Meet on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 to 8 PM (currently all meetings are virtual with online and call-in options through Microsoft Teams)
- Work with communities to understand pedestrian and transportation priorities
- Advise the Mayor and the City Council on transportation policies
- Provide input to SDOT and other departments on pedestrian projects
- Occasionally coordinate outside regular meetings on special topics
