We’re adjusting on-street paid parking rates to make it easier to find a parking spot

Details at-a-glance:

  • Starting Monday, October 24, new on-street paid parking rates will take effect in Seattle.
  • The update is based on the latest available parking data collected and analyzed in August and September.
  • Our goal is for there to be one or two open parking spaces on each block. This supports businesses and helps drivers more easily find parking without circling the block multiple times.
  • Rates are staying the same or decreasing at around 2/3 of parking locations and times around the city.
  • This is the final adjustment of the year – the next parking rate update will be early next spring.

On Monday, October 24, rate adjustments to Seattle’s on-street paid parking will take effect at locations throughout the city. This seasonal adjustment is part of our regular process to help ensure enough parking spots are available, based on the latest real-world parking usage data and seasonal trends. We typically make these parking rate updates three times per year, in the spring, summer, and fall.

Overall, rates remain low at many locations. Out of 90 total locations and times, we’re adjusting 36 rates – 6 rate decreases at locations that are not as full as they were in the early summer, and 30 rates increases where parking capacity is full or nearly full.

Parking rates are staying the same or decreasing at 2/3 of locations and times of the day. The most common rate remains $0.50 per hour, primarily in the morning. Afternoons and evenings remain busier and see the bulk of rate increases.

Please see the table below for details of each location and rate in the morning, afternoon, and evening, as of October 24. You can visit our paid parking web page for more information. The parking rates will also be shown on an interactive map on our website.
