Mercer Corridor Project (East Phase) – Weekly Construction Preview

This week, crews will focus on underground utility work on Valley Street and Broad Street.

Activities this week include:

  • Begin installation of a dynamic messaging sign above westbound Mercer Street between Boren Avenue N and Terry Avenue N. Please note, the far left lane of westbound Mercer Street will be restricted during off-peak hours on March 18 and 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as work is underway.
  • Conduct repair on a signal mast-arm on the southeast corner of Mercer Street and 9th Avenue N on Thursday, March 21 or Friday, March 22. The far right lane of eastbound Mercer Street will have a single lane restricted between8th Avenue N and Westlake Avenue N during off-peak hours from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  •  Continue electrical vault installation on Broad St. between 9th Ave. N and Westlake Ave. N.
  • Continue Seattle City Light and communications duct bank work on Valley Street.
  • Continue cast in place wall installation on the north side of the I-5 off-ramps.

Traffic engineers will continue to:

  • Monitor traffic flow on Mercer Street and newly re-opened Fairview Ave. N.
  • Monitor traffic flow at the Dexter Avenue N and Mercer Street intersection.
