Free Parking at Pioneer Square on May 2 – First Thursday Art Walk
It’s First Thursday again, and that means Free Parking in Pioneer Square! As previously mentioned, the Alliance for Pioneer Square, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and the City of Seattle partner with Pioneer Square businesses and parking operators to offer free parking during the monthly First Thursday art walks. Parking locations and more information about the promotion are available at www.firstthursdayseattle.com.
Free Waterfront parking on Mother’s Day
Bring your mom down to the Waterfront on Mother’s Day to dine at a participating restaurant, take an Argosy cruise, ride the Great Wheel or visit the Seattle Aquarium, and get up to four hours of free parking!
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12. The Downtown Seattle Association (DSA), WSDOT, and the City of Seattle are partnering with waterfront attractions and restaurants to offer visitors up to four hours of free parking.
For more information, including participating parking locations and businesses, visit the www.DowntownSeattle.com/MothersDayParking.
Both the First Thursday and Mother’s Day parking promotions are part of a broader strategy to maximize parking near construction on the Waterfront and in Pioneer Square. Since August 2011, WSDOT and the City of Seattle have been working to identify and implement strategies to mitigate on-street parking losses due to SR 99 tunnel construction. The agencies launched www.DowntownSeattleParking.com, an interactive, mobile-friendly website that features hours, rates and directions for nearby parking facilities in these neighborhoods. The site helps drivers locate convenient parking that matches on-street, metered parking rates.
