Timber column rot was identified during an initial inspection

The East Pine St Pedestrian Bridge provides pedestrian access between Madrona Dr and 39th Ave in the Madrona neighborhood. During a recent structural inspection, we discovered extensive timber column rot throughout the bridge. Starting Friday, March 29, 2019, the bridge will close and all access will be restricted. The bridge will remain closed for two months for an inspection, maintenance, and repairs, and is expected to re-open on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
