West Seattle Bridge Community Task Force held inaugural meeting this week

The West Seattle Bridge Community Task Force met for the first time this week on Wednesday, June 10.

The Community Task Force has representatives from all over West Seattle and the Duwamish Valley, including neighborhood groups from the Junction to Georgetown to South Park to Highland Park to SODO.  The group is also comprised of elected officials, West Seattle businesses, and industrial and maritime businesses and their workers.

Members will help ensure transparency, clear communication, and broad community engagement around both traffic mitigation efforts and the future path forward for the West Seattle High-Rise Bridge

During this first meeting, members had the opportunity to virtually meet one another, affirm their purpose and objectives as the Community Task Force, gain an understanding of the project background, and be introduced to possible pathways to reopen the West Seattle Bridge.

Consistent with our commitment to transparency and clear communication, these community task force meetings are streamed live and recorded. We invite you to watch this week’s meeting below.

The next Community Task Force meeting will be on Wednesday, June 17 at 1 pm.
