Georgetown traffic signal lights the way! Plus, striping job complete on Airport Way & Doris.

Lighting the way for pedestrians on Airport Way.

You may have noticed new crosswalk markings with a new traffic control signal while dining, shopping or enjoying a night out in Georgetown on Airport Way S at S Doris St. Georgetown is Seattle’s Industrial Arts Corridor.

The signal is a result of SDOT’s responsiveness to the Georgetown Merchants Association and community members desire to make this vibrant neighborhood more pedestrian friendly.

With a push of a button, pedestrians can now prompt a red light for vehicles along Airport Way so they can comfortably cross with a green.

Visitors can enjoy historic and colorful Georgetown, located just minutes south of downtown Seattle. This lively cultural community is home to over 40 galleries, diners, nightclubs, coffee houses, art studios, bookstores and more.

 

Ed Sheeran’s hit “Shape of You” video was shot in Georgetown.

Who knows, you may run into Ed or some other famous person while hanging out in Georgetown.
