Mercer Corridor Project (East Phase)
Weekly Construction Preview

This week, the crew’s primary focus will be pavement removal and grading on Fairview Avenue N and continued electrical work on Fairview Avenue N and Valley St.

Activities this week include:

  • Continue pavement removal and grading in preparation for rebuilding sections of Fairview Avenue N.
  • Continue electrical and sign bridge foundation work near I-5 on-and off-ramps.
  • Continue electrical transmission cable work near Fairview Avenue N and Roy Street.
  • Continue installing and preparing electrical vaults for new electrical conduit on Fairview Avenue N.
  • Install underground communication lines on Fairview Avenue N between Valley Street and Mercer Street
  • Install artwork in median of Mercer Street on Sunday, October 21. This work will require one eastbound and two westbound lanes on Mercer Street between Fairview Avenue N and Terry Avenue N to be closed between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

 This week, traffic engineers will monitor:

  • Traffic flow on Mercer Street.
  • Traffic flow at Dexter Avenue N and Mercer Street intersection.

Fairview excavation and repaving
