This week, crew’s primary focus for the Mercer Corridor Project (East Phase) will be pavement removal, grading and sidewalk demolition on Fairview Avenue N along with continued utility work near Fairview and Valley.
Activities this week include:
- Begin pavement removal and grading in preparation for rebuilding sections of Fairview Avenue N. Work will be located on the west side of the roadway between Mercer and Valley streets.
- Continue installing underground communication lines on Fairview Avenue N between Valley and Mercer streets.
- Pour concrete pavement on the east side of Fairview Avenue N between Republican and Harrison streets.
- Begin sidewalk removal and pole foundation installation on the east side of Fairview Avenue N, south of Mercer Street.
- Install conduits for reconstructed signal at Republican Street and Fairview Avenue N.
- Begin installing catch basins on Valley Street and Fairview Avenue N.
This week, traffic engineers will:
- Monitor traffic flow on Mercer Street.
- Monitor traffic flow at Dexter Avenue N and Mercer Street intersection.
- Continue planning for the eventual reopening of southbound Fairview Ave N.
