You’ve heard of men at work, well, we have goats at work! About 62 goats have moved to the Pine Street Hill Climb for another week of urban grazing. This area is hard for machines and humans to reach, but the herd quickly strips the incline of blackberries, thistles and other tough overgrowth. And that means we don’t have to use herbicides.
The Pine Street Hill Climb stairway, which connects Alaskan Way to Western Avenue and the north side of the Pike Place Market parking lot, will be closed throughout the operation (expected to be through Thursday.) Then, the herd will later work under the Jose Rizal Bridge for a few days.
Please use the stairway at Pike Place Hill Climb as an alternate.
