The Walk Bike Ride (WBR) Challenge is off to a great start. Over 1600 people have accepted the Challenge to reduce drive-alone car trips by walking, biking, riding transit, and carpooling. We have loads of great prizes and have partnered with both the Sub Pop Jubilee and the Capitol Hill Block Party to encourage attendees try new travel options to get to the action.
The Seattle Department of Transportation’s Travel Options staff made custom Google maps centered on the location of each event that allow you to select public transit, bike, foot, or car and receive customized directions based on your starting location. These maps are embedded in the website of each event along with information on how to join the Challenge and be eligible to win exciting event-related prizes. The Sub Pop Jubilee provided a limited edition 25th Anniversary merchandise package, which was recently awarded to a WBR participant.
And still to come: we will be raffling off two sets of sold out 3-day passes to the Capitol Hill Block Party! Each individual pass is valued at over $130, and all participants that have logged at least 10 trips by Monday, July 22 are eligible to win. Be sure to log all of your trips for the chance to win passes to three days of more than 100 of the best bands and DJs from the Northwest and beyond play on 6 stages in Capitol Hill from July 26-28.
