Don’t miss the August 21st meeting!
On Wednesday, August 21st, SDOT will be hosting an open house event to share information about the Belltown-Uptown Electric Transit Improvements project. The open house will be held at the Urban Oasis Café (2929 1st Avenue) from 4 – 6 p.m.
The improvements will include new electric trolley bus overhead wires along Denny Way between First and Third avenues and a new stop at Second Avenue and Denny Way. These improvements will allow for Metro Routes 1, 2, and 13 to be rerouted along the new trolley wire, saving up to 2 minutes in travel time per trip and millions of dollars in 
operating costs.
The new stop at Second Avenue and Denny Way will replace the undersized stop at Warren Avenue and Denny Way, providing an enhanced passenger waiting environment and additional operating flexibility.
The project will begin this fall and continue intermittently until February 2014, when the new routing is set to begin.
