Weekly Construction Wrap-up

Traffic signals are installed on Valley Street.

mercer_logo_200This week, crews continued grading and pouring sidewalks on Westlake Avenue North and on Valley Street. Crews also continued construction on the north side of Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North and the east side of SR 99 between Valley and Harrison streets.

Activities this week included:

  • Completed nighttime conduit repair work on Fairview Avenue North.
  • Completed Seattle City Light vault work near the intersection of Fairview Avenue North and Valley Street.
  • Continued underground electrical work across Roy Street at Sixth Avenue North. Please note, Roy Street east of Sixth Avenue North will be local access only for approximately one week with no right turns from southbound SR 99 onto Roy Street being permitted.
  • Continued grading and pouring sidewalks on Westlake Avenue North between Mercer Street and Ninth Avenue North and on Valley Street between Westlake Avenue North and Fairview Avenue North.
  • Continued sidewalk work on the north side of Mercer Street between Second Avenue North and Fourth Avenue North.
  • Continued work on the abutments for the east side of the SR 99 overpass over Mercer Street.
  • Continued installing dowels in the north retaining wall and footing on Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North.
  • Continued pole and conduit installation for new signals on Valley Street.
  • Continued installing poles and conduit for lighting on Westlake Avenue North and on Valley St.

 Traffic engineers will continue to:

  • Monitor traffic on Mercer Street, Fifth Avenue North, Broad Street and Ninth Avenue North.
  • Monitor traffic at the Westlake Avenue North and Mercer Street intersection.
  • Monitor traffic flow at the Dexter Avenue North and Mercer Street intersection.
