Weekly Construction Wrap-up

 

The SR 99 bridge will be higher than the existing bridge to provide standard clearance for trucks on Mercer and to transition SR 99 into the Tunnel south of Mercer.  The retaining wall will support the sidewalk and roadway adjacent building just north of Mercer.

mercer_logo_275This week, crews continued landscaping work on Valley Street between Fairview Avenue North and Ninth Avenue North. Construction activities also continued on the north side of Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North and the east side of SR 99 between Valley and Harrison streets.

Activities this week included:

  • Continued landscaping on Westlake Avenue North and Valley Street.
  • Continued sidewalk work and conduit installation on the north side of Mercer Street between Queen Anne Avenue North and Fifth Avenue North.
  • Continued sidewalk improvements on Roy Street at Fifth Avenue North.
  • Continued installing concrete panels on the north retaining wall on Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North.
  • Continued installing utilities on the south side of Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Aurora Avenue North.
  • Continued work on the north and south ends of the east side of the SR 99 bridge.
  • Continued electrical work along the south side of Mercer Street between Eighth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North.
