It’s May Day – Please Plan Ahead

A number of demonstrations and rallies are expected to significantly impact traffic around the city throughout the day. Please plan ahead for delays due to larger than normal crowds along demonstration routes and potential traffic disruptions.

Annual May Day March for Workers and Immigrant Rights: After a rally at Judkins Park, a march is planned from Judkins Park to Seattle Center, starting at 1 p.m. The march route is via S Jackson St, 12th Ave, Madison St, 6th Ave, Denny Way, 5th Ave N and is scheduled to end at Seattle Center. About 8,000 people are expected to participate.

Seattle Police will use rolling closures around the route as the march proceeds.

King County Metro expects transit service disruptions due to demonstrations, especially during the afternoon/evening commute, so be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get where you’re going.

And please be aware that the First Hill Streetcar and South Lake Union Streetcar lines also have reduced service today.

SDOT would to thank the public for its patience.
