Seattle’s Future Streets

The Right-of-Way Improvements Manual ten-year update is nearing completion! It will be featured on a new and improved website, Streets Illustrated, and will help to illustrate the future and provide guidance for how to design city streets.

What’s included?

  • New street types that reflect the adjacent land use,
  • How to navigate permit processes,
  • Standards and guidelines for changes in the right-of-way,
  • Design standards for intersections, Universal Design, public space programming and activation, bicycle facilities, transit facilities, and freight design.

There’s even more to look forward to! Check out our short film starring SDOT employees and produced by Reel Grrls, a production company that supports and mentors young people in media production.

We are also giving away 2017 5x 10” Streets Illustrated desk calendars! Contact Lizzie.Moll@seattle.gov with your name and address to get your free Streets Illustrated calendar!*
