As part of the S King St Neighborhood Greenway project, our crews will be demolishing and then repaving existing roadway panels on the west side crossing of the S King St and Rainier Ave S intersection.
Here’s What You Can Expect:
Schedule
Work will begin as soon as Monday, September 9. This work is anticipated to last up to 7 days and is weather dependent.
Crews work hours are 7 AM – 4 PM, with no noisy work occurring before 9 AM.
Closure | Detour | Lane Restrictions
During this time, westbound traffic onto S King St from Rainier Ave S will be closed off for up to 7 days. Please note this westbound vehicular traffic restriction is 24/7 for up to 7 days.
Signage will be set up to inform drivers to detour to S Weller St or S Jackson St during this work.
Workers will be flagging to direct people around the work zone.
“No Park” signs will be in the work area 72 hours in advance of work.
Noise
There may be noise impacts after 9 AM on the impacted days.
Project Outcomes
This road panel repaving work allows us to install conduits underground for the new signal poles that will be installed at the S King St and Rainier Ave S intersection. This work is necessary to build out a safe and signalized crossing for pedestrians and bicycle users.
