Learn about 15th Ave NE Paving Project at a virtual drop-in session on July 29!

With investment from the Levy to Move Seattle, 15th Ave NE is getting safety & paving upgrades!

This project is funded in part or full by the 2015 voter approved levy to move Seattle.

Starting this summer, we’ll pave approximately 1.3 miles of 15th Ave NE to make the road safer and more comfortable to travel on, and to extend the useful life of the pavement. This project also provides opportunities to cost-effectively update street designs that promote safety for people walking, biking, and in vehicles.

15th Ave NE is a minor arterial serving northeast Seattle that connects the University District, Ravenna, and Maple Leaf neighborhoods.

Approximately 10,000 vehicles travel this street on an average day and is a major transit street, serving King County Metro routes 71, 73, and 373. This section of 15th Ave NE is home to residential neighborhoods, apartment buildings, businesses, and Roosevelt High School.

Join us for an online drop-in session on July 29 to learn more about the construction before it begins.

We completed design and are hosting an online drop-in session before construction begins this summer. We’ll share information about the project, the schedule, and the impacts of construction. We’ll also be available before and during construction to answer your questions.

As a part of the 15th Ave NE project, a new water main will be installed between NE 70th St and NE 75th St and some residential water service pipes will also be upgraded.

The water main work will improve the resiliency of the drinking water system and increase fire flow capacity.

To safely complete this work, approximately 4 scheduled temporary water outages are required. Customers impacted by the outages will be notified directly by Seattle Public Utilities at least 2 days in advance. For more information about what you can expect and how you can prepare for a planned water outage, visit this link.

For concerns or questions about the water main work, contact Valerie Tokumoto at Valerie.Tokumoto@seattle.gov or (206) 233-5152.

For questions about your water service, please contact SPU’s 24/7 Operations Response Center at (206) 386-1800.

Details about the water main work and paving project will be provided at our drop-in sessions and online.
