In 1943 the South Spokane Street viaduct, much like now, was under construction. But back then it was all work from scratch.
The area was sparsely populated and only recently booming with cars.
But as different as it looked back then – just as the old saying goes – the more things change the more they stay the same. In The Ramp has Been Decked! blog posting this past January you’ll notice pictures very similar to the one at left. Luckily we have better equipment now to help workers get the job done – but still, no love for traffic congestion while work is underway.
