Just in case you haven’t heard…as of February 5, King County Metro dropped its restriction on loading bikes on buses at transit stops in downtown Seattle’s Ride Free Area. They tested this over the last year and evaluated that safety, operation, and on-time performance were not affected. So that means on those days when you really don’t feel like riding home in the rain…you can put your bike on the bus and get a ride.
If you want to try it while not under pressure…The Bicycle Alliance of Washington has also had a demo rack available to practice on in their BikePort facility.
Another reason to use the bike/bus combo – or any just walk, bike or bus – is the Walk Bike Ride Challenge. Participate in March/April, receive support and you could win great prizes.
