It’s not a little black dress but rather a fabulous layer of concrete that has rendered the 15th Avenue NE Bridge ready for its big debut! Final placement of the new concrete deck was significantly weather dependent – requiring several consecutive days of balmy and dry – but with its completion travelers now have a new way to go (well, new compared to the last 11 months). Tomorrow the contractor will remove all construction detour signage, clean up the work area and remove the temporary barriers – letting traffic drive through by 5 p.m.
SDOT greatly appreciates the community’s patience while this important bridge project was completed – especially in light of the changed re-opening schedule due to weather (which matters much in the world of road construction). With this bridge complete, as well as the the repair of the public stairway at NE 98th Street travelers of all kinds are once again empowered to travel!
