No excuses either – Seattle remains the top “Walk Friendly” community in the nation by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC). The only “Platinum level community” Seattle tops a list of 23 other communities that have earned bronze to gold designations by the Walk Friendly Communities (WFC) program. The “Walk Friendly” title means a city or town is being recognized for its success in working to improve a wide range of conditions related to walking, including safety, mobility, access, and comfort through comprehensive programs, plans and policies.
