This week, crews primarily focused on continuing underground utility improvements near Valley Street and Fairview Avenue N and pavement removal on Fairview.
Construction activities this week included:
- Completed electrical and sign bridge foundation work near I-5 on-and off-ramps, which required nighttime lane restrictions on the I-5 on- and off-ramps at Mercer Street through Thursday, October 10.
- Completing electrical transmission cable pull on Mercer Street which involved a temporary lane revision on Mercer Street west of 9th Avenue N.
- Installing and preparing electrical vaults for new electrical conduit on Fairview Avenue.
- Pavement removal and grading in preparation for rebuilding sections of Fairview Avenue N.
- Completed pavement for future westbound lanes on Broad Street.
This week, traffic engineers monitored:
- Traffic flow on Mercer Street.
- Traffic flow at Dexter Avenue N and Mercer Street intersection.
