Weekly Construction Wrap-Up

This week, crews primarily focused on continuing underground utility improvements near Valley Street and Fairview Avenue N and pavement removal on Fairview.

Paving Broad Street

Construction activities this week included:

  • Completed electrical and sign bridge foundation work near I-5 on-and off-ramps, which required nighttime lane restrictions on the I-5 on- and off-ramps at Mercer Street through Thursday, October 10.
  • Completing electrical transmission cable pull on Mercer Street which involved a temporary lane revision on Mercer Street west of 9th Avenue N.
  • Installing and preparing electrical vaults for new electrical conduit on Fairview Avenue.
  • Pavement removal and grading in preparation for rebuilding sections of Fairview Avenue N.
  • Completed pavement for future westbound lanes on Broad Street. 

This week, traffic engineers monitored:

  • Traffic flow on Mercer Street.
  • Traffic flow at Dexter Avenue N and Mercer Street intersection.
