Weekly Construction Preview

Utility and paving work continues on Fairview

This week, crew’s primary focus will be pavement removal and grading on Fairview Avenue N and continued electrical work on Fairview Avenue N and Valley Street.

Activities this week include:

  • Continue pavement removal and grading in preparation for rebuilding sections of the east side of Fairview Avenue N. Work will be moving south towards Republican and Harrison streets.
  • Continue electrical transmission undergrounding work near Fairview Avenue N and Roy Street.
  • Install underground communication lines on Fairview Avenue N between Valley Street and Mercer Street.
  • Connect underground water main on Valley Street. This work will include night work on Thursday, October 25, and will include a temporary closure of Fairview Avenue N between Mercer Street and Valley Street on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Traffic trying to head north on Fairview Avenue N to reach Eastlake will be temporarily detoured to Terry Avenue N and up Valley Street to re-connect with Fairview Avenue N.

This week, traffic engineers will continue to monitor:

  • Traffic flow on Mercer Street.
  • Traffic flow at Dexter Avenue N and Mercer Street intersection.
