The project to rebuild much of Delridge Way SW between SW Orchard and SW Roxbury streets began nearly one month ago, and this weekend crews tackle the the Delridge/Henderson intersection. To reduce impacts to the traveling public the plan is to complete intersection reconstructions in one weekend each – working around the clock. The team begins at 7 p.m. today and plan to wrap up and re-open the intersection to all traffic by 6 am Monday at the latest. NOTE: Evening construction, including pavement removal using impact breakers, may be performed until 10:00 p.m. under the conditions of a noise variance, to expedite construction.
The next intersection on the docket is Trenton, set for construction next weekend, from 7 p.m. February 15 to 6 a.m. February 18. Look for detour details early next week. Work in Phase 1 is expected to continue through early March, weather permitting. Phase 2 covers Delridge Way SW between SW Trenton and SW Thistle streets. Each of the first three phases is expected to last up to two and a half months.
