This week, crews focused on pavement removal and grading on Fairview Avenue N between Valley Street and Mercer Street in preparation for concrete pavement on the east side of the roadway and electrical work near the intersection of Fairview Avenue N and Valley Street.
Activities this week included:
- Continued pavement removal and grading on Fairview Avenue N between Valley Street and Mercer Street in preparation for rebuilding the roadway.
- Continued concrete pavement installation on west side of Fairview Avenue N between Mercer Street and Harrison Street.
- Continued Seattle City Light electrical duct bank work on Fairview Avenue N between Mercer Street and Valley Street.
- Continued conduit and handhole installation for future street lights on west sides of Fairview Avenue N between Mercer Street and Harrison Street.
- Began cast in place wall installation on the north side of the I-5 off-ramps.
Traffic engineers will continue to:
- Monitor traffic flow on Mercer Street after changing the signal timing the weekend of February 2-3 to give an additional 20 seconds of travel time to the east-west movement on Mercer Street during the morning and evening commutes.
- Monitor traffic flow at the Dexter Avenue N and Mercer Street intersection.
