Weekly Construction Wrap-Up

This week, crews focused on sidewalk restoration on Fairview Avenue N between Valley Street and Mercer Street as well as pavement installation on Fairview Avenue N between Valley Street and Aloha Street.

Activities this week included:
• Completed pavement removal and grading on Fairview Avenue N between Valley Street and Aloha Street in preparation for rebuilding the roadway. This work required a temporary detour for northbound Fairview Avenue N traffic that began Tuesday, February 26 and continued until Wednesday of this week.
• Completed signal installation at Republican Street and Fairview Avenue N.
• Completed sidewalk installation on Fairview Avenue N between Valley Street and Harrison Street.
• Completed installation of pole foundations for future street lights on west sides of Fairview Avenue N between Mercer Street and Harrison Street.
• Continued Seattle City Light duct bank work on Valley Street.
• Continued cast in place wall installation on the north side of the I-5 off-ramps.

Traffic engineers will continue to:
• Monitor traffic flow on Mercer Street.
• Monitor traffic flow at the Dexter Avenue N and Mercer Street intersection.
• Prepare for the full opening of Fairview Avenue N on Saturday, March 9.
