Ballard Bicycle Street Party and Beyond

Bike to Work May 31 party biketoworkBallard

You’ve put in the miles, logged your trips on the calendar – now it’s time to party with your bicycle buddies.

Join us at Bergen Place Park in Ballard, 22nd Street NW between Market St. and Ballard Avenue on Friday, May 31, from 3:30 to 7 p.m.  There will be a live family-friendly music stage featuring local bands from 4 to p.m., and at 6:30 p.m. you’ll have the opportunity to get up on stage and show off your riding outfit in our “Share Your Style” Fashion Show presented in partnership with Hub & Bespoke and Bern Helmets. Great prizes for all who participate!

Other prizes will include special Bike Month awards, including Team Captain of the year and the Top School from Bike to School Day.

There will be a massive bike corral to park your ride while you check out the party. Children, pets and families are welcome at this fun, all ages event.

If you are new to bicycle commuting, then you have just found out that riding a bicycle as part of your daily commute is a great way to get exercise and fresh air. Consider a bus / bike commute, or bike one or two days a week.  Learn about local bike infrastructure from Seattle’s Department of Transportation, and from some of our community partners,  including the Elliot Bay Seawall Project and the SR520 Bridge Replacement.  Stop in and say hi to the folks at Cascade Bicycle Club – they can help you continue commuting on a year-round basis.

Don’t let this event signal the end of your bicycle commuting habit – it’s just the beginning!
