Landscaping on Fairview Avenue North

 

mercer_logo_200This week crews continued work on underground utilities on Valley Street, Broad Street and Westlake Avenue North, north of Mercer Street. Crews also continued construction on the north side of Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North and the east side of SR 99 between Valley Street and Harrison Street.

Activities this week included:

  • Sidewalk and pavement removal on the north side of Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North and on the east side of SR 99 between Valley and Harrison streets.
  • Storm drainage work on Westlake Avenue North and Broad Street.
  • Installation of pole foundations for streetlights on Valley Street between Fairview Avenue North and Terry Avenue North.
  • Continued Seattle City Light and communications duct bank work on Valley Street between Terry Avenue North and Westlake Avenue North.
  • Continued landscaping installation on Fairview Avenue North between Valley Street and Mercer Street and on the south side of the I-5 on-ramps at Mercer Street.

Reminder: Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Ninth Avenue North is now restricted to two eastbound lanes. Broad Street is open as an eastbound alternative to I-5. Traffic engineers will continue to:

  • Monitor traffic on Mercer Street, Fifth Avenue North, Broad Street and Ninth Avenue North.
  • Monitor traffic at the Westlake Avenue North and Mercer Street intersection.
  • Monitor traffic flow at the Dexter Avenue North and Mercer Street intersection.
