Construction activities continued on the north side of Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North and the west side of SR 99 between Valley and Harrison streets.
Activities this week included:
- Continued sidewalk work and conduit installation on the south side of Mercer Street between Queen Anne Avenue North and Third Avenue North and on the north side of Mercer Street between Queen Anne Avenue North and Fourth Avenue North.
- Continued installing concrete panels on the north retaining wall on Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North.
- Continued installing utilities on the south side of Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Aurora Avenue North.
- Continued work on the north and south ends of the west side of the SR 99 bridge.
Please note:
SDOT advises travelers of temporary daytime lane restrictions on Fifth Avenue North beginning as early as Monday, Jan. 6 for approximately two weeks to accommodate utility work beneath the roadway. During this work, travelers can expect the following impacts:
- Fifth Avenue North will be restricted to one lane in each direction between Harrison Street and Roy Street during off-peak travel times, between approximately 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Travelers heading toward downtown from Queen Anne should utilize Queen Anne Avenue North and Denny Way as alternate routes.
- Travelers heading toward the Seattle Center and Queen Anne from downtown should utilize Denny Way and First Avenue North or Elliot Avenue West as alternate routes.
- Please note this work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
