If you’ve traveled around Ballard, Wallingford, or the University District recently, you may have noticed these signs at transit stops:
We’re excited to announce that we’ve installed 11 new Real-Time Information System (RTIS) signs at King County Metro bus stops serving Route 44 along the NW Market/45th Street corridor through Ballard, Wallingford, and the University District! These pole-mounted LED signs help make riding transit more predictable by informing travelers of projected bus arrival times. This information can helps the rider decide whether he or she needs to catch the next bus or can wait for the following one, and if there’s time for an errand or a cup of coffee. At this time, seven are fully operational with the other four expected to be online soon.
Similar RTIS signs have already been installed at dozens of locations on the Route 7, C Line, D Line, E Line, and Third Avenue corridors, and will be expanded to higher ridership bus stops in the future. For more information on real-time information system signs, visit us at http://bit.ly/1RWohkn.
