Here’s a look at safety improvements we did through our Safe Routes to School program near Ballard High School for the new school year.
The painted curb bulb at NW 65th St and 14th Ave NW helps improve safety for kids walking to school by shortening the crossing distance, and helps drivers at the intersection by making pedestrians easier to see. We also installed new flashing crosswalk lights to warn drivers when a pedestrian is crossing.
The painted curb bulb matches the Ballard High School Beavers, whose colors are red and black.
With just a bit of paint, street markings, and posts, we can improve safety for all travelers at this intersection.
