  • Ballard Bridge closure this weekend
    • Reminder – the Ballard Bridge will be closed this weekend, June 6-9.
    • Read our recent blog post or visit the project web page for all these details and guidance to help you get around while the bridge is closed.
  • Spokane St Swing Bridge (Low Bridge) weekend closure
    • The Spokane St Swing Bridge will be closed to everyone this weekend starting 7 AM Saturday, June 7.
    • This closure will affect all land travel, including people biking, walking, and rolling, and driving. We will do our best to complete the work as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience.
    • During the closure, we’ll be re-installing a newly repaired hydraulic cylinder which helps turn the 14-million pound bridge so it can be opened and closed for passing ships.

  • Denny Way Paving Project night work
    • We’ll be working in the street and on sidewalks between Taylor Ave and Boren Ave in the coming days. Please expect lane and sidewalk closures.
    • We will lay new asphalt paving the nights of June 9 and June 10, between 7 PM and 5 AM. This work will require lane closures on Denny Way, but we’ll keep one lane of traffic open in each direction.
    • We’ll need to close several intersections while we complete this work.
    • Additional details about upcoming work are available on the project web page, including on this map graphic.
  • Construction in Eastlake (RapidRide J Line Project)
    • We will start paving on the east side of Eastlake Ave E between Fuhrman Ave E and Harvard Ave E as soon as June 10.
    • This work represents an exciting milestone, marking the end of underground utility construction for the north section of Eastlake Ave E.
    • Paving involves heavy machinery and demolition to break up the existing road, so please anticipate loud noise from this work.
    • Afterward, crews will pour concrete over a foot deep to create the new street.

  • Construction in Fremont (Route 40 Project)

    • Construction on N 36th St at Dayton Ave N has begun. We’ll be performing water valve and sidewalk upgrades. Neighbors can expect temporary delays and detours for people driving, walking, and biking while crews conduct trench work in the area.

  • Aurora Ave N (SR 99) 24/7 bus lane installation underway
    • To help manage extra traffic on Aurora Ave N expected during upcoming Revive I-5 construction, SDOT and King County Metro are making changes to existing bus lanes on Aurora Ave N.
    • The existing bus lanes will be in effect all day, every day, instead of only during peak hours.
    • Our crews are actively installing the new bus lane signs along Aurora Ave N, and the expanded bus lane hours will take effect once all the signs are installed.
  • Northbound Rainier Ave S to eastbound I-90 on-ramp closure
    • We’re working with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) on near-term crossing and accessibility improvements at Rainier Ave S.
    • To install new ADA-accessible curb ramps, raised crosswalk, and flashing beacon across the eastbound I-90 on-ramp from northbound Rainier Ave S, this on-ramp is scheduled to be closed from 9:00 AM on Friday, June 13 through 5:00 AM on Monday, June 16.
