Cars parked by the curb at paid parking stations in downtown Seattle. Photo: SDOT Seattle’s new street parking rates will take effect on Monday as part of our regular seasonal adjustments.
Most area and time rates will stay the same, and other area and time rates will see changes of $0.50 per hour.
Click here to view the new parking rates below. They will also be posted on our paid parking rates web page.
The goal is to have one or two parking spaces available at any given time on each block. This helps people find a spot when they need one to visit local businesses and other destinations throughout the city.
These changes will be in effect from May 11 until the next rate change in the fall. They align with the Seattle Municipal Code that has informed our rate adjustments since 2011.
Street parking in Seattle is free on Sundays and certain holidays, except near Seattle Center during large events.
Public transportation is a great way to get around Seattle, especially if you’re headed to an area where an open spot can be hard to find. Anyone 18 and younger rides local buses, streetcars, Link light rail, and ferries for free, and discounted fares are available for eligible adults.

Why parking rates change
We set on-street parking rates by comparing data from each paid parking area in the city with our performance metric targets for parking occupancy.
Rates generally increase where and when it is hard to find an open parking space and decrease where parking spots are easier to find.
When do they typically change?
Parking rates in Seattle typically change two or three times a year. In 2026, the next rate change is planned near the end of the year.
