			SDOT Photos posted a photo:	Eastbound traffic on Mercer Street was shifted on Jan 30, 2012 to the newly constructed lanes on the north side of the street. The new, wider sidewalk is also now open for use.  Next, the contractor will work on the southern side of the streets. When completed, the street will be a two-way boulevard.

Dance or have a Cup of Tea? What will you do in the Street?

Do both and much more at Greenwood Summer Streets this Friday.  From 6-9 pm on August 13th we are having a 22 block long street party!  We have partnered with the neighborhoods’ monthly monthly Art Up Art Walk and many neighbors. Here’s a short list of what we have planned.  Who knows who else will decide to have a picnic in the street or start a pet parade.

-       Kid’s obstacle course sponsored by Seattle Children’s Hospital

-       Live muralists hosted by Bherd Studios at Greenwood Collective

-       The first annual Greenwood-Phinney Pub Crawl sponsored by Naked City Brewing and Bleachers Pub

-       Ballroom, Flamenco and Hip Hop Dance Classes in the street hosted by American Dance Institute

-       A Masquerade created by Avanti Art & Design and 826 Seattle 

-       Skateboard slalom fun sponsored by Maryhill Rats 

-       Gumshoe 5K kick-off!

-       An outdoor tea party and live art sponsored by Tasty

-      Tomato Tasting with the Farmer’s Market at the Phinney Neighborhood Center

-       A Sixties “Dancing in the Streets” event hosted by Sustainable Greenwood Phinney

-       Fire engine exploration for all ages and fire safety information

-       Bubbleman hosted by Metropolis

-       A wiffle ball game at 73rd and Greenwood

-       Live music by The Shed Boys in front of the Phinney Neighborhood Center

-       July WALK BIKE RIDE Challenge prizes presented to drawing winners by Mayor McGinn

 Everyone is invited.  Come play in the Street
