Work is now underway on the project to reconstruct the majority of 15th Avenue NE in the University District – from NE Pacific Street to NE 55th Street. The final product will improve pedestrian access by widening sidewalks at bus zones, adding curb ramps and curb bulbs and installing a new marked crosswalk at NE 41st Street. The project will also add a new northbound left turn lane at NE 42nd Street, upgrade area lighting and address transit needs. The segment from NE Pacific to NE 45th streets is expected to be complete by June, with crews moving northward from there. The project is set to wrap in October of this year.
