By taking the time to participate, you can help design a seawall that supports and protects Seattle’s waterfront, including critical utilities, transportation corridors, recreation and tourist destinations, and thousands of businesses and homes. Your input will help define the project’s alternatives.
The Elliott Bay Seawall Project is an important public safety project. Built between 1916 and 1934, the seawall does not meet current earthquake standards and has deteriorated significantly over the last 90 years due to damage by gribbles and ship worms. SDOT is coordinating closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Central Waterfront Project on this effort.
