Summer Tree Care

A maple tree suffering from severe drought stress

Our short summer is drawing to a close, but your trees may need a little help getting through the last dry weeks.  If you see leaves wilting, dropping, or starting to turn color early, your tree may be suffering from drought stress.  If the soil around the base of the tree feels bone dry, a little water will help a tree survive until the rains start again.   Trees take many years to establish themselves and attain a mature size; it only takes a few gallons of water to help them survive another season.  For more detailed information on summer tree care, see: http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/watering2.htm
