Our Urban Forestry Landscape crew will be planting new trees in some medians on Lake City Way this Sunday, December 20!

Between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, trees will be planted on Lake City Way in the medians between NE 113th and NE 133rd Streets.

While this is happening, the inside lanes of Lake City Way in this stretch of road will be closed in both directions. Work will begin at the south end, near NE 113th St, and move north to NE 133rd St over the course of the day, impacting travel for two to three blocks at a time.

Our Urban Forestry team administers, maintains, protects, and expands the City’s urban landscape in the street right-of-way to maximize economic, environmental, safety and aesthetic benefits. We recently wrote a blog about street trees along NE 43rd St, their benefits, and how we have incorporated innovative soil cells to give them more space underground to thrive! Give it a read here.
