The Flip Your Trip West Seattle program has been working with communities in West Seattle, South Park, and Georgetown to provide transportation support during the West Seattle Bridge repairs. Along with our charismatic SpokesSalmon Sal, our team has been helping people who live or work in these neighborhoods to find better ways of getting around by providing financial support, offering trip planning assistance, and holding special events to share resources with community members.
Transit options including bus, water taxi, and light rail are useful ways to get around during the West Seattle Bridge closure. Transit access on the Spokane Street Low Bridge has proven a big time saver for residents and folks who work in the area, who have opted to take the bus rather than drive. The West Seattle Water Taxi is a quick boat ride for those heading to downtown Seattle for work, play, or other activities.
The Flip Your Trip program offers a sign-up bonus of $25 in free trips to anyone who lives or works in West Seattle, South Park, or Georgetown. This can be used on transit, the water taxi and even e-scooters. All in all, it’s a great time to consider trying transit.
